A leading and highly established asset management firm with offices across the globe are looking for a highly efficient and meticulous Onboarding Specialist to join their Compliance Operations team. Duties include handling onboarding documentation such as account opening forms, legal agreements such as ISDAs, futures and options agreements, and prime brokerage agreements. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and creative self-starter who can support a broad range of information gathering and synthesis, as well as projects and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the KYC, Credit, Legal, and Account Opening requirements for all counterparties while ensuring that both onboarding and counterparty maintenance requests are completed within expected timeframes with persistent and professional follow-ups
• Undertake refreshed due diligence on existing counterparties to ensure identification of changes in risk profile, including reputational and operational risk factors
• Handle account opening requests, broker onboarding documentation and liaise with brokers on AML/KYC documentation including account opening forms, NDAs, OTC derivatives, futures, options, prime brokerage related documentation
• Prepare agreements for execution, follow up and process when completed (electronic and hard copy)
• Liaise with counsel (internal, external) and/or counterparties regarding negotiation, status of documentation and outstanding issues
• Handle other requests or projects on an as-needed basis
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree qualified, ideally in law discipline
• Diligent and Demonstrated ability to deliver precise and timely work products
• Knowledgeable in Fixed Income, Equities, and Options asset classes
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work with varying levels of ambiguity; ability to react creatively amid challenging circumstances
• Ability to multi-task on several different assignments/projects; works well under pressure and meets deadlines
• Effective communicator both with complex subjects and external client communication
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English and conversational in Chinese
• Demonstrated high level of initiative, analytical skills, and impeccable integrity
• Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence, and poise
• A self-starter who is both team-oriented and capable of working independently
