About the role
A prestigious UHNW family is seeking an exceptional, passionate, and inspiring Private Home Tutor & Life Coach to provide holistic educational and developmental support to their children on a 1-year renewable contract. This is not a traditional tutoring role—it is a unique opportunity to serve as a mentor, life coach, and guide who will inspire the children to love learning, explore the world, develop social communication skills, and grow into confident, curious, and well-rounded individuals.
The ideal candidate will be highly educated, globally minded, and possess a natural ability to connect with children and motivate them to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Educational Support
Provide personalised, one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (aligned with the children's school curriculum)
Develop customised lesson plans and learning materials tailored to each child's learning style, pace, and interests
Support homework completion, exam preparation, and school projects
Monitor academic progress and provide regular feedback to parents on development and areas for improvement
Life Coaching & Personal Development
Serve as a life coach and mentor, helping children build confidence, resilience, and emotional intelligence
Inspire curiosity and a love for learning by introducing new ideas, subjects, and experiences
Encourage the development of social communication skills, including effective verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
Guide children in setting and achieving personal goals, both academic and extracurricular
Foster independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Travel & Global Exposure
Accompany the family on international travels, providing educational support and continuity of learning on the road
Design and implement immersive, travel-based learning experiences - visiting museums, historical sites, cultural landmarks, and engaging with local communities
Encourage children to explore the world, embrace different cultures, and develop a global perspective
Adapt teaching methods and schedules to different time zones and travel itineraries
Extracurricular & Personal Development
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate enrichment activities, including arts, music, sports, and creative projects
Encourage participation in extracurricular activities that align with the children's interests and talents
Support the children in developing hobbies and exploring new skills (e.g., languages, sports, music, coding, debating)
Act as a positive role model, demonstrating passion, curiosity, and a growth mindset
Communication & Coordination
Maintain open and regular communication with parents on the children's progress, challenges, and achievements
Collaborate with other household staff (e.g., nannies, drivers, household manager) to ensure a cohesive approach to the children's development
Provide written progress reports and updates as required
Flexibility & Adaptability
Be flexible to adapt to the family's dynamic schedule, including weekends, holidays, and travel
Embrace an active, on-the-go lifestyle and be comfortable with frequent travel and changing environments
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability when engaging with diverse communities around the world
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in private tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching roles—ideally with UHNW families
Proven experience in designing and implementing personalised learning programmes
Experience working with children across different age groups
Skills & Competencies
Excellent academic knowledge across core subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities)
Strong bilingual communication skills: Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English (both written and spoken)
Special skills in one or more areas: e.g., arts, music, sports, coding, languages, debating, public speaking, or another talent that can enrich the children's development
Passionate and outgoing, with a natural ability to inspire and engage children
Emotionally intelligent, patient, and empathetic—able to connect with children and understand their individual needs
Flexible, adaptable, and resilient - comfortable with frequent travel and changing schedules
Global exposure - lived, studied, or worked internationally, with a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives

Contract Type: 1-year fixed-term contract (renewable by mutual agreement)
