Our client is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms with a strong and established presence in Asia Pacific. Due to expansion of their business, they are now seeking a highly analytical and commercial Accountant to join and support their Finance team. You will be able to make a direct impact and your attention to detail, strong commercial awareness and ability to challenge stakeholders will contribute to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial best practice around areas such as credit control, billings, payroll and commission calculations, pricing and valuations
- Proactively work with Partners/Senior Lawyers to be on top of their practice revenue and profitability, billing and debtors status
- Manage monthly revenue forecasting and budgeting process and identify any problematic areas
- Anticipate and report the revenue impact on the monthly P&L account
- Maintain and update records on non-recoverable time & debtors and identify any significant outstanding balances
- Work collaboratively with other revenue analysts and controllers to drive working capital best practice and optimization
- Establish an approval framework for write off and keep track of all billing write offs and bad debts
- Coordinate the monthly debt collection focus and reach out to clients directly with clear follow up actions
- Hold responsibility for all revenue related accounts and perform monthly reconciliations & analysis on movements
- Support statutory and internal audits on revenue related accounts
- Assist Partners and fee earners with pricing negotiations and financial review of commercial contracts
- Support strategic business planning and identify any areas where working capital processes can be improved
- Provide other support, as required, to the Controller and Finance team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar role; legal or professional services experience would be preferable
- Degree qualified in Accountancy, Finance, or related fields
- Must be CPA qualified
- Proficient Excel skills, including pivot tables and other common functions
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) are a prerequisite
- Organized and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting demands whilst maintaining a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively – comfortable in a multicultural team environment
- Proactive with strong commercial awareness
