A U.S. headquartered and world-recognized brand name in the FMCG world is currently seeking a highly influential and collaborative Manager, Public Affairs to form part of its Corporate Communications / External Affairs team. Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage plans and strategies for external stakeholder engagement
- Influence decision makers, enhance public standing and generate positive coverage for the business
- Enhance the Hong Kong External Affairs team’s capability to establish meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences
- Provide internal forecasts of the likely effect of public policy changes on the organisation
- Provide written or oral briefings for senior staff members and advise them on contact with decision makers
- Draft press releases and build relationships with media contacts
- Keep abreast of important media stories on a daily basis
- Proof-read and, if necessary, rewrite media statements
- Support the team on any projects or events
Requirements:
- A degree holder in Communications, Marketing or related disciplines
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Government Affairs or Corporate Affairs
- Experience dealing with media would be advantageous
- Possess an extensive and relevant network
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese
- Exceptional project management, prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, identify and solve problems, and take initiative
- Strong leadership qualities and managerial experience
