Our client is a leading and prestigious investment management firm with an impressive track record and huge global presence. With numerous offices in the Asia Pacific region, the firm has demonstrated its commitment to be a leading asset manager in the region. They are now seeking a detail-minded and highly efficient Accounting Specialist to support their Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding candidate whom is passionate about delivery and exceeding expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable related transactions
- Review and confirm expense claim submissions in accordance with company policies
- Process and record payments and receipts according to deadlines
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded timely and accurately for month end closing
- Assist in preparing and reviewing month end reconciliations and journals
- Preparation of ledger postings
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Provide other support, as required, to the Asia and US finance teams
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ work experience in a similar role; financial services experience would be preferable
- Degree qualified in Accountancy, Banking, Finance, or related fields
- Working knowledge of SAP, Concur and/or BusinessObjects
- Proficient Excel skills, including pivot tables and other common functions
- Familiarity with cost centres and group structure matrices
- Experience of key balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets and prepayments
- Good understanding of VAT
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; English and Chinese are a prerequisite, Mandarin would be highly advantageous
- Organized and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting demands whilst maintaining a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively – comfortable in a multicultural team environment
- Enthusiastic and proactive
