My client, a market-leading general underwriter providing specialised corporate insurance products, is looking for an Operations Manager to join their dynamic team in Singapore. This role focuses on maintaining efficient day-to-day operations that support the underwriters in the office, rather than being an underwriter position itself. A successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong sense of autonomy, strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and comfort with numbers.
Responsibilities:
Data entry relating to transactions into the data management system
Responsibility for maintaining data integrity in the data management system
Assist with identifying data, administrative and operational issues that are impacting the team, and help ensure these are resolved
Ensure compliance of all binders and regulatory restrictions
Assist with compliance queries.
Run and distribute regular reports
Prepare analytical data using spreadsheets – utilising both pivot tables and v-lookups.
Produce reports from the corporate systems for internal and external audiences.
Ensure compliance with global financial sanctions.
Provide general assistance to underwriters with administrative duties.
Liaise with brokers on all administrative issues, including premium payments and document management.
Assist with various Marketing, IT, and other internal projects, acting as first point of contact.
Bank account reconciliation and working with the Accounting and Treasury teams to resolve any payment queries.
General office management.
Requirements:
Insurance experience is a must, preferably in W&I or Financial Lines.
Degree in Business, Economics or Law (preferred).
Excellent attention to detail.
Able to use and interpret financial data quickly and effectively.
Fluent in English.
Additional language is advance.
Strong interpersonal skills. Experience in supervising, mentoring, or providing on-the-job training is desirable
Intermediate Excel and Word skills (ability to set up and run pivot tables in Excel, ability to run redlines in Word)
Excellent communication
Proactive - showing initiative when completing tasks by pre-empting issues and proposing solutions to them.
