About the role
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join a dynamic Equity Team. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong passion for public markets, a deep understanding of bottom-up fundamental research, and the ability to generate actionable investment ideas. The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing companies, industries, and markets across Asia to support the team’s investment strategies.
Key Responsibility:
Conduct bottom-up fundamental research to generate investment ideas across Asian equities.
Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess company fundamentals, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Perform in-depth analysis of company earnings, industry trends, and competitive positioning to identify mispricing opportunities.
Develop and present investment theses with clear, actionable recommendations supported by data and research.
Monitor and evaluate macro-economic and sector-specific developments that may impact investments.
Collaborate with portfolio managers to provide timely insights and updates on covered companies and sectors.
Maintain a strong understanding of valuation methodologies such as DCF, relative valuation multiples (P/E, EV/EBITDA, etc.), and other financial metrics.
Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical developments relevant to the Asia region.
Qualifications:
3-6 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management, or a hedge fund environment with a focus on public markets.
Proven expertise in bottom-up single stock research with the ability to independently evaluate companies and industries.
Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in valuation techniques (DCF, comparables, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA charterholder is a strong plus.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate investment ideas clearly and concisely.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Deep knowledge of the Asia equity markets, including key sectors and macroeconomic drivers.
Proficiency in tools like Bloomberg, FactSet, or Capital IQ.
Highly passionate about equity investing and public markets.
Curious and intellectually driven, with a strong desire to uncover market inefficiencies.
