About the role
A prestigious family in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced and skilled Private Chinese Chef to provide exceptional culinary services. The ideal candidate will specialise in authentic Chinese cuisine, with a strong focus on Cantonese and other regional dishes, and will have extensive experience working in high-end restaurants. This role requires the ability to design and prepare customised menus for the family, ensuring the highest quality of ingredients, presentation, and taste, while maintaining strict hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare daily meals for the family, focusing on authentic Chinese cuisine (e.g. Cantonese, Sichuan, or other regional specialties).
Design customised menus based on the family’s preferences, dietary requirements, and seasonal ingredients.
Source, inspect, and ensure the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment.
Cater for private family gatherings, special occasions, or events as required.
Manage kitchen supplies, monitor inventory, and ensure timely replenishment.
Stay updated with culinary trends and implement new techniques or dishes when appropriate.
Qualifications
Over 10 years of relevant experience in reputable restaurants, with a proven track record of working with high-end or fine dining establishments.
Expertise in Chinese cuisine, especially Cantonese, with the ability to adapt to family preferences.
Must hold a valid Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID).
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy.
Flexible to adapt to the family’s schedule and willing to work weekends or holidays if required.
