About the role
We are seeking a highly discreet, professional, and experienced Butler to serve as the Household Manager for a private UHNW family. This pivotal role is responsible for the seamless and impeccable operation of the principal's residence, overseeing all aspects of service, staff, and estate management. The ideal candidate will embody the highest standards of luxury service, demonstrating exceptional foresight, organizational prowess, and unwavering confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Staff Oversight:
Serve as the head of the household staff, directing, training, and scheduling a team including housekeepers, chefs, drivers, and security.
Ensure the residence is maintained to an immaculate standard, reflecting the principal's expectations for quality and presentation.
Manage household inventories, including fine wines, spirits, linens, silverware, and other valuables.
Oversee all property maintenance, coordinating with external vendors and contractors for repairs, renovations, and seasonal projects.
Service & Entertaining:
Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of formal and informal entertaining, from intimate dinners to large-scale events.
Manage table settings, menu planning in collaboration with the chef, and service to the highest standard of etiquette.
Greet and attend to guests with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
Oversee the service of meals and beverages, including formal silver service.
Administration & Logistics:
Manage household budgets, track expenditures, and process invoices with meticulous attention to detail.
Create and maintain household manuals, inventories, and procedural systems (SOPs).
Coordinate complex international travel and logistics for the family, including itineraries, transport, and security arrangements.
Handle confidential correspondence and communication on behalf of the principal.
Valet & Personal Assistance:
Provide valet services, including wardrobe care, packing/unpacking, and ensuring all personal effects are meticulously maintained.
Anticipate the needs and preferences of the principal and their family to provide seamless, personalized service.
Qualifications:
Essential: Proven experience as a Butler, Household Manager, or a senior role in a 5-star hotel or private service environment.
Impeccable discretion, integrity, and a proven ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
Extensive knowledge of formal service protocols, etiquette, and household management.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse household team.
Superb organizational and time-management skills, with a proactive and anticipatory approach.
Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a significant advantage.
Proficiency in household management software and MS Office for budgeting and scheduling.
