About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Director of Global Business Development for our top tier client, which is to architect and lead the global expansion. This pivotal role is dedicated to identifying transformative opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable growth across diverse international markets.
Your mandate will be to bridge emerging and established economies—from the dynamic hubs of Asia and Africa to major global financial centers. You will craft and execute strategies that not only capture market potential but also create lasting value in sectors critical to the future, including renewable energy, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Market Expansion:
Develop and execute data-driven global growth strategies, identifying and prioritizing opportunities in tech-driven economies, resource-rich regions, and key industrial corridors.
Partnership & Relationship Building:
Cultivate and manage high-stakes relationships with a diverse network of partners, including multinational corporations, government officials, diplomats, and local community leaders.
Deal Execution:
Lead end-to-end negotiation and execution of complex, cross-border partnerships and deals, navigating varied regulatory frameworks and economic landscapes.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Orchestrate collaboration between internal global teams, local partners, and external stakeholders to deliver integrated projects on time and within scope.
Risk & Opportunity Management:
Proactively assess geopolitical, regulatory, and market risks, turning potential obstacles into advantages for the business.
Market Intelligence:
Serve as the company's authority on global market dynamics, synthesizing insights from various sectors to inform strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
Key Requirements
A proven leader with 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or international expansion, with a significant focus on both Asian and African markets.
Your career is a mosaic of experiences across dynamic markets, tech ecosystems, and industrial hubs, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex cultural and economic environments.
A track record of successfully negotiating and closing high-value, complex deals in a global context.
Deep sector expertise in one or more of the following: renewable energy, infrastructure development, digital transformation, or fintech.
An astute understanding of geopolitical and regulatory challenges in emerging markets, with proven experience building trust with government stakeholders.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the poise and demeanor to engage confidently with C-suite executives, diplomats, and community leaders.
A resilient and agile operator, skilled at leading projects through volatility and delivering tangible results.
Required: Fluency in English. Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Mandarin, French, Swahili, Arabic) is a significant advantage.
